Montanya Hires National Head of Sales

Our people make the Montanya world go round, and are we ever excited to announce a new addition to the Montanya team. Starting in April, Rob Richardson will be our National Head of Sales, helping us to expand sales and distribution in Colorado, as well as New York, New Jersey, Texas, California and beyond.

Rob comes to us with more than three decades of experience in the wholesale industry, including the past 22 years at Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC). He most recently served as Vice President of Artisan Spirits Sales for Texas, and before that as Vice President of Spirits Sales in Colorado.

Our founder and owner Karen Hoskin has known Rob for almost a decade, nearly as long as she’s been making rum and running Montanya. He was one of the first in the industry to take a chance on Karen and Montanya, making his decision to join the company even more meaningful.

“I have always been impressed by his quiet accomplishments, industry knowledge and character,” she said. “I didn’t dare hope I could attract a candidate of Rob’s caliber, but I am known for aiming high and dreaming big. Rob reminds me of what is best about distributor partnerships when all the players are aligned toward the same goals.”

Richardson will stay with RNDC through the end of March before relocating back to Colorado, his home state. He’ll be joined by his husband, Joe, and dog, Duke. The move will also bring him closer to his two children and his 9-month-old grandson. Welcome, Rob!
